Not all workers’ compensation cases are centered on physical injuries. Sometimes, an employee’s ability to perform his or her job is prevented by a psychological condition, such as PTSD from a work-related incident. In these cases, a psychiatric independent medical examination (IME) may be requested. Psychiatric IMEs are commonly ordered for workers’ compensation claims, insurance purposes, and criminal cases. 

Our board-certified independent medical examiners provide impartial evaluations that help parties reach an unbiased determination based on objective data. Once the initial examination is concluded, we compile and document a report on the case as well as a prognosis and options for additional treatment. Our evaluations are based on a review of records, examination responses and test results, and indicate the individual’s ability to return to his or her job and any specific limitations.
